Currently I am a 7th grade Social Studies teacher. My major passion within education is increasing literacy.

I am currently inspired to explore the literary world by reading as much as possible and writing about the experience. Writing my own poetry, short stories, and novels is also a current goal of mine. At the moment, I am working on crafting a young adult novel. I decided to create this blog in order to practice my writing skills and showcase them to an audience. In addition to showcasing my writing, I wanted to share my love of reading with others. Writing in this manner is something new for me. The prospect of having others read my work is one that fills me with concern and nervousness. I have never been one to put my thoughts in full view of others.

My plans for this blog include reviews of books that I have read recently as well as musings and reponses to other literary items such as interviews with authors, poems, articles, etc. I also will occasionally do some writing of my own – mainly in the form of fanfiction. My goal is to evolve as a writer and a thinker through this process. My main reading interests are within the gothic and supernatural genres.
